The Raptor ARC-18 Phase: Ahead of the Curve for Large, Multiclass Lists by Mass Spec

Designed and intended specifically for use on LC-MS/MS systems, the Raptor ARC-18 SPP LC column offers a well-balanced retention profile without the drawbacks of using an ordinary C18 in the harsh, acidic mobile phases needed for mass spectrometry (MS).

Food, Agriculture, and cannabis customers can use the ARC-18 column to test for residual pesticides, cannabinoid content, and cannabis products using one ‘solvent saving’ column.

       • Ideal for high-throughput LC-MS/MS applications with minimal sample preparation.
       • Well-balanced retention profile for better detection and integration of large, multiclass analyte lists.
       • Sterically protected to endure low-pH mobile phases without sacrificing retention or peak quality.
       • Higher efficiency for drastically faster analysis times.
       • Better selectivity for substantially improved resolution.
       • Increased sample throughput with existing HPLC and UHPLC instrumentation.
       • Long-lasting ruggedness for dependable reproducibility.

Target Mycotoxins in Cannabis with Restek's New Ochratoxin A & Aflatoxins Standards

Mycotoxins are toxic secondary metabolite compounds produced by mold or fungi. Due to the toxicity of certain mycotoxins that can be found on cannabis plants, there is a growing need to detect their presence in both raw plant materials and finished cannabis products.

Restek now offers two new mycotoxin certified reference materials (CRMs):
Ochratoxin A (cat.# RK34122) and Aflatoxins (B1, B2, G1, G2) (cat.# RK34121).

These new reference standards enable labs to expand their cannabis analyses with a Restek solution when coupled with our high-throughput Raptor ARC-18 (cat.# RK9314A12) LC column.

Stand-alone CBDV Reference Standard

Accurate quantitation of both cannabidiol (CBD) and cannabidivarin (CBDV) for cannabis potency and strain ID is a must, especially as interest in using CBDV as an anticonvulsant and anti-nausea treatment continues to rise. Restek now offers a stand-alone CBDV reference standard – in addition to CBD and a host of other cannabis standards – to help labs with the comprehensive analysis of cannabis products.

Sample Preparation

Automated Clean-up of Aflatoxins and Ochratoxins

The Freestyle SPE system can be used to automate the clean-up of aflatoxins and ochratoxins in hemp samples. By using the specially designed immunoaffinity columns, you can extract the content of Aflatoxins B1, B2, G1, G2 and Ochratoxin A with very good recoveries. Make it a complete streamline process by combining the Freestyle SPE module with the EVA (evaporation module) and the in-line direct LC injection module.

QuEChERS Method for the Determination of Mycotoxins

CrossTOX® is a low cost QuEChERS SPE Column for the Analysis of 16 Mycotoxins in one run!

    • Many labs analyze mycotoxins using a dilute-and-shoot method that is labour intensive and slow.
    • CrossTOX® improves these analyses by using a QuEChERS-based procedure that provides a cleaner extract than the syringe filter used in the dilute-             and-shoot method (the syringe filter is no longer needed when using CrossTOX®)
    • Because the extract is cleaner, CrossTOX® allows a higher number of sample injections to be made before the LC-MS/MS needs to be cleaned or                  maintained.  That means your LC-MS/MS is running more and being serviced and cleaned less.
    • CrossTOX® saves significant cost per sample as much less internal standard is required.

Simplified Pesticide and Mycotoxin Analyses

LCTech helps analytical laboratories expand their testing capabilities for cannabis and cannabis-containing products for mycotoxins and pesticides with exceptional clean-up columns that can be easily automated:

       • Afla-OtaCLEAN columns for aflatoxin B/G and ochratoxin A, based on immunoaffinity mechanism to achieve regulated LOQ also by HPLC
       • CrossTOX® columns for optimised dilute-and-shoot LC/MS-based multi-mycotoxin analysis
       • QuEChERS pesticide columns for the non-dispersive QuEChERS process which achieves higher matrix depletion than the dispersive process

High Matrix Reduction and Reliable Recoveries in Your LC-MS/MS Mycotoxin Analyses Using CrossTOX® Columns

Mycotoxin residues are strictly regulated in many countries. For their detection in the trace range, a fast and efficient extraction is needed. Equally important in sample clean-up is the effective depletion of matrix interferents.

The multi-mycotoxin CrossTOX® column offers the perfect solution:

A chemical sorbent ensures high purity of the extracts for sensitive analysis - fast and reliable
Unrestricted compatibility with the matrices to be tested (cereals, nuts, dried fruit, feedstuffs)
All regulated mycotoxins can be analysed using this technology in combination with LC-MS/MS for fast, reliable, reproducible analyses

Extraction and Clean-up of Pesticides Using ChloroFiltr®

ChloroFiltr® is a novel polymeric-based sorbent designed for the removal of chlorophyll from acetonitrile extracts. Traditional QuEChERS cleanup approaches use graphitized carbon black (GCB) to remove pigments, including chlorophyll, from sample extracts. Although GCB is effective in removing chlorophyll it can also retain planer analytes, resulting in low recovery. UCT has developed a proprietary polymeric sorbent that selectively removes chlorophyll without sacrificing the recovery of planar analytes. ChloroFiltr® is used as a replacement for GCB in the QuEChERS procedure and no additional method modifications are required (optimal cleanup is obtained utilizing acetonitrile).
