INDUSTRY UPDATE

European Union Ban of BPAs

Earlier this summer, the EU agreed to ban Bisphenol A (BPA) on materials that are in contact with foods.  The European Food
Safety Authority has concluded that BPA has potential harmful effects on the immune system.  This ban will apply to the use of BPA
in food and beverage packaging including plastic drink bottles, kitchenware and other items.
