Maackia Amurensis Lectin I (MAL I), Fluorescein, 2 mg, is a conjugated form of the leucoagglutinin or mitogenic isolectin from Maackia seeds. It binds gal (beta-1,4) glcNAc and tolerates substitution of N-acetyllactosamine with sialic acid at the 3 position of galactose, but it does not appear to bind this structure when substitution with sialic acid is on the 6 position of galactose. This product has an appropriate number of fluorochromes to provide the optimum staining characteristics for this lectin and is supplied essentially free of unconjugated fluorochromes. Fluorescein has an excitation maximum of 495 nm and an emission maximum of 515 nm.
