J'sphere offers a choice from three kinds of ODS made from the same silica gel base, each with different ligand coverage

Differences in ligand coverage considerably affect the hydrophobic retention behaviour of solutes, as well as the separation behaviour resulting from solute functional groups or tertiary structure.

J'sphere is useful for the optimization of separation conditions, since there is almost no need to consider interactions other than hydrophobic and hydrogen-bonding interactions (e.g., ionic or coordinate interaction).
