Inert HPLC Columns
Both Restek
and YMC have developed HPLC column lines featuring superior inertness, for use
in challenging situations where column interactions can influence results.
Restek's columns are ideal for the analysis of metal-sensitive compounds, such as organophosphorus pesticides and mycotoxins.
Restek's inert LC column technology helps labs improve their analysis of metal-sensitive compounds. A premium inert coating applied to the stainless steel surface of these LC columns reduces the nonspecific binding of chelating analytes, enabling sensitive
analysis and smooth integration of peaks.
This inert LC column technology is available on three column types: Raptor Biphenyl, Raptor ARC-18, and Force Biphenyl.
These new columns help bring the benefits of inert column technology to labs specializing in small molecule LC-MS/MS workflows.
YMC’s line
is suitable for biomolecule and protein work.
Below is an article about optimizing the IP-RP analysis of protected and unprotected oligonucleotides. You can also download a poster
on the influence of bioinert (u)HPLC hardware on biomolecular analyses.
Contact our Technical Team to discuss whether more inert HPLC columns could be beneficial to your lab.
FEATURED PRODUCTS
Force / Raptor HPLC Columns for PFAS Analyses
Restek has 2
brands of HPLC columns particularly well-suited for PFAS analyses; when
combined with a delay column, the results are outstanding.
Force Performance LC Columns: Apply Force to Your LC Methods
- Long-lasting and reproducible – even with rapid cycling and elevated UHPLC pressures.
- Fully scalable between HPLC and UHPLC – easily transfer and optimize methods.
- Premium quality – backed by a 100% Pure Satisfaction Guarantee
Restek’s
Force performance LC columns give you the power to maximize instrument uptime,
increase productivity,
and transfer methods across your entire lab. The result
of over twenty years of work.
Meet today’s workflow needs - and prepare for tomorrow’s - by applying Force LC columns in your lab.
Raptor LC
Columns: Selectivity Accelerated
- Drastically faster analysis times.
- Better selectivity for improved resolution.
- Long-lasting ruggedness for dependable reproducibility.
The
efficiency of superficially porous particles (commonly known as SPP or
“core-shell” particles) provides fast separations
with low back pressures;
speed up your analyses using existing HPLC instrumentation.
Eliminate
the Impact of Instrument-Related PFAS Interferences by Using a Delay Column
Background PFAS contamination can interfere with low-level quantification requirements. Instrument-related background contamination can stem from LC components that contain fluoropolymers (e.g., PTFE), which can leach into mobile phase solutions. Switching to PEEK or stainless-steel tubing, containers and instrument components mitigates some of the risk of background contamination, the use of a delay column can significantly improve results even further.
FEATURED INSTRUMENTATION
MVP Automatic Parallel Vacuum Concentrator
The MVP vacuum
concentrator is widely used for the preparation of environmental samples,
natural products, food
and agricultural product samples, and heat-sensitive
products. It achieves high-throughput automatic evaporation
through vacuum,
heating and rotation. It improves work efficiency and sample recovery, reduces
human errors,
and enhances the accuracy of analysis. A solvent recovery unit makes this system
green while protecting the
laboratory environment and the operator health.

TECHNICAL TIP
Solvent Savings Opportunities in HPLC Analyses
Our
Technical Support Supervisor, Matt Clark, has drafted a brief overview of the
opportunities for solvent and analysis times
by converting your existing HPLC
methods to shorter columns and smaller particle sized materials.
