Protocol

• A colorimetric based assay for determination of cell cytotoxicity
• The CytoScan-LDH Kit measures cytosolic enzyme lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) release as cells die.
• Released LDH is measured with a color producing diaphorase linked tetrazolium salt reaction. The amount of color produced is proportional to the number of cell deaths.
• Researchers can also quantitate the color produced by reading the plate with a standard plate reader.
• Results can be expressed as percentage cell survival or cell death.
• The CytoScan-LDH can be used with both suspension and adherent cells.
• It detects low level damage to cell membranes not detected with other methods, and is simple and safe to use in any set-up.
