Streptavidin, Fluorescein, 1 mg, can be used to detect biotinylated secondary antibodies and other macromolecules in applications such as immunofluorescence, in situ hybridization, or flow cytometry. Vector Laboratories fluorochrome-conjugated streptavidin and avidin reagents are highly purified, possess very low non-specific binding, and have extremely high affinity for biotin. Easily achieve amplification of fluorescent signals with our biotinylated secondary antibodies and highly purified fluorochrome-labeled streptavidin or avidin. Using biotin/avidin or biotin/streptavidin detection results in an additional amplification over a directly conjugated secondary antibody. Excitation max: 495 nm; Emission max: ~ 515 nm. This product has an optimal fluorochrome to protein ratio and is a reagent we recommend for routine immunofluorescence applications. This product can provide greater sensitivity and lower background staining than conventional primary and secondary fluorescent techniques.
