CXCL10 functions as a chemoattractant for activated T cells, monocytes, dendritic, and Natural Killer (NK) cells that express the G protein-coupled receptor CXCR3. It is an important factor in autoimmune diseases such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis, Graves' disease, and Type 1 diabetes mellitus.
