Gas traps are more effective if they are mounted in a vertical position with the carrier gas running upwards through the trap.
This eliminates channeling of the carrier gas and maximizes the trapping capacity.

CHROMSPEC^™ Indicating Moisture Traps

CHROMSPEC^™ moisture traps utilize polycarbonate bodies, more inert and resistant to infusion than the acrylic used by other manufacturers. These traps are refillable and available in three sizes with three different adsorbent combinations. The ends are provided with Swagelok^™ tube fittings. Each end fitting includes a 40 micron sintered stainless steel frit. 

• Inert polycarbonate body.
• Simultaneous removal of H2O.
• Combination molecular sieve 13X and indicating 4A.
• Indicating 4A changes colour from blue to tan at 20% relative humidity.
• Maximum pressure is 125 psi.

Molecular Sieves 13X and Indicating 4А are the adsorbents most commonly employed for gas drying in gas chromatography.
The indicating 4A changes from blue to tan at 20% relative humidity. 

Molecular Sieves 5A and Indicating Drierite^™ mixture will remove oil and hydrogen sulfide as well as moisture.
The indicating Drierite^™ changes from blue to pink as relative humidity approaches 40%.

Traps utilize a very high surface area activated carbon. Designed to remove alcohols, ethers, chlorinated hydrocarbons, ketones and aromatics

• Refillable traps are available in several configurations.

• Suitable for use with chromatography carrier gas streams.

• Recommended as downstream indicator for high-capacity oxygen purifiers.
• Change colour from green to gray when adsorption capacity is depleted.
• Allow high-capacity removal of oxygen with the benefit of an indicator to alert the user
      of saturation of the primary trap.
• Form copper oxide in the presence of oxygen; no gas is generated.
• Inner glass tube is protected by a sealed outer plastic tube.
• If the glass tube were to fail, the gas system is still fully protected against leaks.

Trajan/CRS's high-capacity gas purifying system is designed to reduce contaminants in gases commonly used in laboratory applications to low-ppb levels, available in two models. The AFS Purifier I removes oxygen, moisture and hydrocarbons, (greater than C4) from inert gases and hydrogen. It contains high-sensitivity oxygen and moisture indicator. When cartridge is depleted the oxygen indicator changes from GREEN to GREY. The Moisture indicator changes from BLUE to BROWN. Both AFS Purifier I and AFS Purifier II have a very high capacity and can be expected to supply four GC's for at least one year when used with 99.995% pure gas supplies (provided reasonable care is taken during tank changes). 

The Advanced Filter System Complete Kit includes the AFS Cartridge, Manifold, and the wall and bench mounting brackets.
